Out and about in Brussels

I apologize for being so slow to finish blogging about our trip. One more after this than I will move on to more current events.

We had Sunday off from any EU/NATO happenings so we decided to go out Saturday night for drinks with a few friends.

Check out those beers! Called "Kwak", hilarious to witness, Sam's is in the middle, the two big ones were our friends'; we're not THAT crazy!

We had to try drinking from those crazy glasses at least long enough to take a picture!

Everyone else was doing it! I guess this bar is known for it's acceptance of customers dancing on tables because all at once everyone hopped up on a table and danced, so we joined.
That night some of the people in our group went to a karaoke bar but we decided to pass because we THOUGHT we would have a full day of exploring ahead of us...

Turns out this was the highlight.

Our cheese and meat platter with a side of fries, enjoyed inside a bar (a very cool 4 story bar) while watching the olympics (with German commentators) was the most excitement we got that day due to the weather : (

We watched out the window as people braved the hurricane-like-storm. So cold and so rainy but the worst part was the wind! People's umbrella's (including ours) flipped inside out almost immediately upon opening.

Abandoned umbrellas left on the streets of Brussels, very sad day off.

Our last night in Brussels we went out to dinner with the whole group. Delicious food and wine of course.

On the way to dinner...
At the restaurant...
After our dinner a few of us felt the need to go out for the famous Belgian fries one more time...
Last couple shots of the beautiful "Grand Square" before we left...
